Introduction
Every STPM candidate from government schools, government-aided schools, private schools, and individual private candidates must carry out coursework (project work). This coursework (project work) will be conducted in the second term and will be one of the assessment components for the second term. Candidates must carry out all aspects related to the coursework (project work) as stipulated by the Malaysian Examinations Council (MPM). The assessment for this coursework (project work) for government school candidates and government-aided school candidates will be conducted by school teachers, while the assessment for private school candidates and individual private candidates will be conducted by examiners appointed by MPM. The weightage of marks for this coursework (project work) component is 20%. The assessment marks for the coursework (project work) must be submitted to MPM to be considered together with the examination marks for the purpose of determining the overall marks and grading. Guidelines and instructions for the coursework (project work) assignments will be provided through the MPM portal http://www.mpm.edu.my.
Objectives
The objectives of this coursework (project work) are to assess the candidates' abilities in;
(a) Cognitive skills:
- identifying and describing problems and issues related to national development and proposing solutions;
- applying theories and methods taught in the classroom to the given assignments;
- interpreting, synthesizing, and summarizing data and information related to the presented issues.
(b) Manipulative skills:
- searching for and collecting various types of data and information from various sources;
- obtaining sources through activities such as observing, recording, interviewing, and surveying;
- obtaining sources through library research, writings of government and private agencies, and from internet sources;
- displaying the obtained data and information in the form of graphics, tables, diagrams, charts, and writings.
(c) Soft skills:
- being able to communicate orally and in writing;
- being able to collaborate in groups, organize tasks, and work as a team;
- being able to effectively manage the activities of the coursework (project work) prepared;
- being able to manage time according to the set work schedule;
- being able to solve problems;
- being able to produce assignments creatively and innovatively;
- being capable of conducting quantitative and qualitative research scientifically;
- being able to conduct research honestly, with integrity, and ethically;
- being able to enhance self-confidence and motivation.
Kerja Kursus (Kerja Projek)
Pengenalan
Setiap calon STPM sekolah kerajaan, calon sekolah bantuan kerajaan, calon sekolah swasta, dan calon persendirian individu wajib melaksanakan kerja kursus (kerja projek). Kerja kursus (kerja projek) ini akan dilaksanakan pada penggal 2 dan menjadi satu daripada komponen pentaksiran untuk penggal 2. Calon mesti melaksanakan semua aspek berkaitan kerja kursus (kerja projek) seperti yang ditetapkan oleh Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia (MPM). Pentaksiran untuk kerja kursus (kerja projek) ini bagi calon sekolah kerajaan dan calon sekolah bantuan kerajaan akan dijalankan oleh guru sekolah, manakala pentaksiran untuk calon sekolah swasta dan calon persendirian individu akan dijalankan oleh pemeriksa yang dilantik oleh MPM. Wajaran markah bagi komponen kerja kursus (kerja projek) ini adalah sebanyak 20%. Markah pentaksiran kerja kursus (kerja projek) hendaklah dihantar kepada MPM untuk diambil kira bersama-sama dengan markah peperiksaan bagi tujuan penentuan markah keseluruhan dan penggredan. Panduan dan arahan tugasan kerja kursus (kerja projek) akan diberikan melalui portal MPM http://www.mpm.edu.my.
Objektif
Objektif kerja kursus (kerja projek) ini disediakan adalah untuk menilai keupayaan calon dalam;
(a) Kemahiran kognitif:
- mengenal pasti dan menghuraikan masalah dan isu yang berkaitan dengan pembangunan negara serta mencadangkan langkah mengatasinya;
- mengaplikasi teori dan kaedah yang diajar dalam bilik darjah dengan tugasan yang diberikan;
- mentafsir, mensintesis, dan merumus data dan maklumat berkaitan dengan isu yang dibentangkan.
(b) Kemahiran manipulatif:
- mencari dan mengumpul pelbagai jenis data dan maklumat daripada pelbagai sumber;
- memperoleh sumber melalui aktiviti memerhati, merekod, menemu bual, dan mengkaji selidik;
- memperoleh sumber melalui kajian perpustakaan, penulisan agensi kerajaan dan swasta serta daripada sumber internet;
- mempamerkan data serta maklumat yang diperoleh dalam bentuk grafik, jadual, rajah, carta, dan tulisan.
(c) Kemahiran insaniah (soft skills):
- berkebolehan untuk berkomunikasi secara lisan dan tulisan;
- berkebolehan untuk bekerjasama dalam kumpulan, mengorganisasi tugas, dan bekerja sebagai satu pasukan;
- berupaya mengawal aktiviti kertas kerja kursus (kerja projek) yang disediakan secara berkesan;
- berupaya mengurus masa mengikut jadual kerja yang ditetapkan;
- berupaya menyelesaikan masalah;
- berupaya menghasilkan tugasan secara kreatif dan inovatif;
- berkemampuan menjalankan kajian kuantitatif dan kualitatif secara saintifik;
- berkebolehan untuk menjalankan kajian secara jujur, amanah, dan beretika;
- berupaya meningkatkan keyakinan diri dan bermotivasi.
